But that’s just Antarctica right? The Arctic is where all of the effects of global warming are evident. Wrong. According to data published by the International Arctic Research Center, in October and November 2008 the extent of Artic Ice coverage was 28.7% greater than the same months in 2007, and October 2008 saw the “fastest growth ever” of Arctic Sea Ice since records began. Very Interesting.

Wait, the glaciers in Alaska. Those are shrinking from Global Warming. I’m sure of it. Sorry. In 2008, Glaciologist, Bruce Molnia of the US Geographical Survey reported: “In mid-June, I was surprised to see snow still at sea level in Prince William Sound…on the Juneau Icefield, there was still 20 feet of new snow on the surface in late July. At Bering Glacier, a landslide I am studying did not become snow free until early August.” In other words, 2008 was the first year since record keeping began that Alaskan Glaciers did not shrink during the summer months. Shocking.

With all of this evidence mounting against man-made Global Warming, the man who has the most to lose, Al Gore has changed his strategy. He’s no longer trying to convince clear thinking adults that we are causing Global Warming, he is now trying to indoctrinate our children. In early February, Al Gore, speaking at the University of Maryland Presidential Youth Inaugural Conference, challenged children to question their parent’s authority. Specifically, he said: “…I’m thinking back a long way to when I was your age and the civil rights revolution was unfolding, and we kids asked our parents and their generation, ‘Explain to me again why it’s OK for the law to officially discriminate against people because of their skin color?’ And parent’s try to tell their kids the right thing, you know? Usually, I do. And when our parent’s generation couldn’t answer that question, that’s when the law started to change. There are some things about our world that you know that older people don’t know. Why would that be? Well, in a period of rapid change, the old assumptions sometimes just don’t work anymore because they’re out of date. New knowledge, new understandings are much more widely available, sometimes to young people who are in school who aren’t weighed down with the old flawed assumptions of the past. Today, Jan. 19, 2009 – we will put 70 million tons of this global warming pollution into the atmosphere. A lot of people think it’s OK. They go outside, they look up at the sky. The sky seems like a huge place. How could we possibly have any impact on it? Just like they used to go out on the ground and look at the sun rise in the East and set in the West and conclude that the sun went around the earth – they were wrong then, and anybody who thinks it is OK to put all this pollution up there is wrong today. We have to change it. The entire North Polar Ice Cap is melting. The sea level is rising, the storms are getting stronger. You know the story. It has to be dealt with and you have to help us deal with it because you – you’re not encumbered with these old assumptions that it’s OK to put all the pollution up there.” Can you believe this? It’s maddening.

So why I am spending so much time on Global Warming? Well, Rahm Emanuel, President Barack Obama’s Chief of Staff, said something very telling during an interview shortly after the election: “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste.” Leftists love crises because they force Americans to accept their radical agenda without much resistance. The left has used the man-made Global Warming crisis to impose potential economically devastating mandates on businesses and private citizens in the name of saving our planet. Many Americans still believe it. Of course, the true agenda is to make millions from these mandates, increase their power, increase our taxes, modify our behavior and weaken America’s economic standing in the world, but if they told us they were doing that, we would have rejected their ideas (like not drilling for our own oil). So, instead, they tell us they saving the planet and we go along. Well, we’re being scammed. It is clear that we only have temperature records for the past 100 years, temperatures haven’t risen in 10 years, the 1930s not the 1990s was the warmest decade on record, the location and condition of the world’s thermometers are suspect, the temperature has dropped over the past two years, ice is actually growing in the Arctic and Antarctica, the hockey stick graph was a fraud, the temperature declined from 1940-1970 when industrial output was at its height…etc, etc, etc. There is simply not enough accurate data to support that mankind has caused any Global Warming. But the mandates continue anyway.

It is important to recognize the threat that is the Great Economic Crisis of 2009. Our Government just used this crisis to pass a “Stimulus Bill” that will do nothing more than buy votes for years to come, solidify their grip on power and ensure that our children will be less free than us. We need to take a close look at the “opportunities” that this crisis has presented to the hard Leftists that run our government. Next week, we will do just that.
